Cross Insurance acquires benefits agency in Massachusetts

Maine-based insurance agency Cross Insurance announced its acquisition of Northern Benefits of Massachusetts.

Northern Benefits of Massachusetts, based in Marlborough, specializes in personalized benefits brokerage and compliance awareness for small and medium businesses in Massachusetts.

Northern Benefits offices will remain in Marlborough while operating as part of Cross Insurance, Coastal Region.

Jay Sinacole and Allan Nassif of Northern Benefits will remain in the office.

In April, Cross Insurance announced the acquisition of Harold Humphrey Insurance Agency, Inc., based in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and its sister agency, Byfield Insurance Agency, Inc., both of which provide coverage to individuals and small enterprises.

Cross Insurance has grown through the acquisition of over 120 insurance agencies throughout the North East. The company now has more than 1,000 employees in Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and Florida.
