Alastair Campbell of Good Morning Britain angered some viewers after calling the Prime Minister a “coward” and a “charlatan” live on the air.

Presenting alongside Susanna Reid on Tuesday, October 5, the couple discussed that Boris Johnson had not appeared on the show for an interview for 1,563 days.

A clip from 2019 has been released showing the Prime Minister promising Ranvir Singh an interview “as soon as he can”, saying “you bet” after Ranvir pushed for an interview next week.

However, it appears the Prime Minister has not been on the show for the promised interview and has avoided GMB for the past four years.

Mr Johnson also did not agree to interview Ranvir today, with the PM waving and walking away as the presenter said: ‘The PM, Good Morning Britain would love to have you in the room. show. It has been 1,500 days since you been there. the show. “

Alastair then launched a scathing attack on the Prime Minister, saying: “You bet, you bet.

“1,563 days. I mean, look, you don’t have the c-word in this program but the guy is a coward.

“And he’s a charlatan.”

Susanna was taken aback by the comments, Alastair asking, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, no, I’m just listening,” Susanna said.

“Do you agree that he’s a coward?” Alastair asked.

She said, “Well, it would be nice to have it on the schedule this morning. That’s what I’m going to say.

“A warm invitation to you, Prime Minister, I am sure you are watching this morning. We would love to talk to you. “

Angry GMB viewers asked Alastair to be sacked after the comment, with Will saying, “I won’t agree with anything @BorisJohnson does or says, but the public humiliation of calling him a coward is just disgusting, surely a journalist / reporter / broadcaster must be neutral #GMB. “

Another said: “@GMB 2 minutes into the show and already calling our Prime Minister a disgusting coward who is not impartial this is just rude speech just because it is not d ‘deal with the prime minister. Journalists shouldn’t make it personal… I tried to watch. “

Roy wrote: “Alastair Campbell called the PM a coward live on TV, he should be fired for making that comment, after GMB ditched Piers Morgan for a similar kind of thinking.”

“He called the prime minister a coward and a liar, no one blinked. Piers says he didn’t believe anyone fired. ?????” said another viewer.

But others agreed with the presenter, Sean saying: “@ Boris Johnson you are a coward, when are you going to get up and face @GMB, #JohnsonOut. ”

Christopher added: “So Boris Johnson is so cowardly he won’t answer questions from Alastair Campbell, Kay Burley or Nick Robinson #gmb.”

GMB’s Ranvir is currently at the Conservatives’ conference in Manchester hoping to interview the Prime Minister.

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV at 6 a.m.
