Manchester United fans slam Paul Pogba for calling £300,000-a-week contract offer ‘nothing’

Manchester United fans have hit back at Paul Pogba, insisting the midfielder has his chance to show he deserves a new contract at the club.

Their reaction comes after the midfielder lashed out at United in his new Amazon Prime documentary. In The Pogmentary, the 29-year-old is seen dismissing the club’s attempts to tie him down to a new contract, which would have been worth at least £300,000 a week, as ‘nothing’ last year.

United have already confirmed that Pogba will leave the club for the second time this summer as his contract expires on June 30. The France international is set to join Juventus, and he says his aim is to show United made a ‘mistake’ by allowing him to Pars.

“My thought process is to show Manchester (United) that they made a mistake while waiting to give me a contract,” Pogba said. “And to show other clubs that Manchester made a mistake by not offering me a contract.”

United, however, had made offers which would have seen an increase in the £290,000-a-week contract Pogba was on. Reports suggest the midfielder will take a pay cut in order to return to Juventus this summer.

Pogba certainly didn’t end up on good terms with United fans, who were regularly frustrated with his performances at Old Trafford, and it’s fair to say his reputation didn’t improve after comments from his documentary came to light .

Pogba is seen questioning one of United’s offers to his late agent Mino Raiola during the documentary, which is released on June 17. “How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and not offer him anything?” said Pogba. “Never seen that.”

Raiola replied: “You have to try to make you feel as good as when you are in the France team. You are different with them. You understand? You are another Pogba with the Manchester United team. It is not normal.

“With the France team, you are the real Pogba, the Pogba of Juventus, the Pogba that everyone loves. With Manchester, there is something that blocks you.
