Optiv emphasizes the brand image of cyber-consulting; Names of Managed XDR, SIEM SOC executives


Optiv, integrator of security solutions and Top 250 MSSP, has refined its brand image to position the company as “the leader in cybersecurity consulting and solutions”. Additionally, Optiv has established the new “one-tier” marketplace as it tries to help organizations manage cyber risk and secure their full potential, according to a prepared statement.

Organizations can use Optiv’s risk, integration and technology solutions to navigate the cyber risk landscape, noted CEO Kevin Lynch. In this way, they can implement cybersecurity programs to keep pace with current and emerging cyberthreats.

In addition, Optiv provides strategic and technical expertise to more than 7,000 companies, the company said. It also serves 75 percent of the Fortune 500.

Optiv strengthens its management team

Along with its rebranding, Optiv hired the following senior service leaders in August 2021:

  • John Ayers as Vice President of Managed XDR (MXDR): Ayers supports MXDR technology and innovation in security, operations, detection and response. He previously served as Product Manager at Top 250 MSSP Nuspire and has over two decades of experience in the cybersecurity industry.
  • Shane Cox as Vice President of Security Operations: Cox spearheads the growth and delivery of Optiv’s co-managed security information and events (SIEM) solution, authorized support, technology management, customer success and additional managed security service elements. He most recently worked at Lumen Technologies where he led the delivery of enterprise security monitoring and response and other managed security services.
  • Rocky DeStefano as Senior Vice President of Innovation and Development: DeStefano is leading Optiv’s efforts to bring new offerings to market and improve its cybersecurity services. Previously, he owned product and control at JP Morgan Chase and was responsible for strategy and ongoing execution of SIEM.

Additionally, Optiv in April 2021 hired Ahmed Shah as Senior Vice President of Alliances and Ecosystems to manage its partnership strategy and programs. Shah previously led technology alliances and strategic partnerships at IT management software provider Ivanti.
