Sir Rod Stewart’s performance called ‘horrible’ – viewers’ reaction
Sir Rod Stewart has been in the news quite recently, but as he returned to our screens to give a performance of One More Time this weekend, viewers were unimpressed with his voice – with one viewer condemning her as “Horrible”.
The leopard-print crooner appeared at the Royal Variety Performance on Sunday night.
But after people watched the event hosted by popular comedian Alan Carr, they quickly took to Twitter to express their feelings about the rendition, the Mirror reported.
One person simply wrote, “Rod Stewart … I literally have no words for this #RoyalVarietyPerformance performance.”
Another joined in the comments, tweeting: “No thanks. I went up to Rod Stewart and that’s enough. #RoyalVarietyPerformance.”
And a third saying: “It was AFFULATING sir! #RoyalVarietyPerformance
The comments continued. Another said: “@ITV, has anyone else just been annoyed by a third party watching Rod Stewart? Please call that Rod, please. #RoyalVarietyPerformance.”
While another said, “After he appeared in Graham Norton, you would have thought someone would have thought no, maybe not Rod? #Rodstewart #RoyalVarietyPerformance.”
The 76-year-old singer-songwriter, who is listed as “one of the best-selling musical artists of all time” also received a reaction from viewers of the Graham Norton Show last month.
At the time, one person tweeted, “This Rod Stewart performance on Graham Norton is the worst thing I’ve seen in a while.”
Another posted: “It was bad already, and then that key change really cemented it!”
Someone else said, “Absolutely okay. What was that? And his ‘band’ – the audience at this gig really dubious in the demand for hair and legs #RodStewart #parody. “
It wasn’t that bad though. Some fans have shown their support for the singer.
Other viewers wrote, “I kinda love Rod. Great performance and love the leopard print outfit.
Someone else said, “#RoyalVarietyPerformance here’s a bold idea. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it, instead criticize everything. Some of us like it.”
